About Us

Semarang Growth Centre (SGC) of Kopertis Region VI of Central Java is the government’s institute under Directorate General of Higher Education – Ministry of National Education, which is intended as a means of development, as well as quality improvement of the Private Higher Education. Built in 1993, this institution provides facilities and infrastructures for education, researches and community services.
Though it is especially oriented to the Higher Education activities, its services are not only for them but also for general public. SGC also works in cooperation with various institutions outside universities or colleges and offer services to industries and individuals. This is in line with the government’s  “link and match” program which is expected to be able to help fulfill the labor market for national and international scale
In its development, in 2001, Semarang Growth Centre of Region VI of Central Java was trusted by the Government of Federal Republic of Germany provided by KfW through Directorate General of Higher Education to obtain a loan. The loan is used for setting up a Maritime Laboratory with IMO standard based on STCW ’95 which will be used to increase the  quality of the Private Maritime Education Institutions in Indonesia. This is very important for fulfilling the world need of seamen with international standard.
Owing to the increasing need and the development of professions in various fields, it is expected that SGC become one of the standardized institutions to provide facilities in the form of laboratory equipment, its programs as well as qualified human resources, which can be used through a working cooperation such as trainings, researches and applied technological designs.
Since SGC is one of the Government’s assets, its empowerment and development, therefore, becomes our responsibility in order to be useful for our country
